Bewafa is a Hindi Film, and it is a Story about Saheba (Hema Malini) and his step daughter Swati (Asha Parekh). Saheba have two sons, Jai Dev(Rajesh Khanna) and Omkar(Rishi Kapoor). Omkar is not happy with his father as he believe that Saheba wanted him to marry the daughter of business partner instead of Swati. Actually Saheba has plan to marry his daughter only with the richest person. Jai Dev live with mother in joint family house in village where there are many people who want him to marry their daughters. Swati also want to marry Jai Dev and she and Saheba always remain friends. One day Swati and her mother goes to market to buy some things. On the way she meets a wealthy man named Kishan (Murli Sharma) who is very handsome and nice man. Swati falls in love with him immediately. When Saheba comes to know about this, he becomes very angry and he says that Swati should marry Omkar instead of Kishan as he much richer than both of them . But when Omkar comes to know about this, he become angry too and leaves house with his mother in anger. Swati becomes very sad because she loves Jai Dev. Then Swati visits her friend Vijay to tell her that she love Jai Dev and also what happened with Omkar. Swati continues to be bad by telling everyone that she want Jai Dev but doesn't know what really she want. "Bewafa" is a cool and action packed film and highlights the amazing chemistry between Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini. This film was the remake of Tamil movie "Pallavi" which was released in 1991. The music is composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. All lyrics are penned by Anand Bakshi. The track "Mere Rang Barse" from this movie became superhit, followed by "Sansaar Ke Tadpane"(with new lyrics from Aadesh Shrivastava), and famous song of Mahesh Bhatt, "Suchi Dhoop", sung by Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan. Lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi.The film score of the soundtrack was written by Shailendra Singh. The music release is through Golden Melody Records. The film was successful at the box office.Rajesh Khanna was nominated for Best Actor in Star Screen Awards for his performance in Bewafa, along with "Kabhie Ajnabi", "Ek Duuje Ke Liye", "Main Intequam" and "Khudgarz".Asha Parekh won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for this movie.
